LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – On Wednesday, Clark County approved an affordable housing development aimed at serving low-income seniors in Southern Nevada.
According to a media release from the county, the new development will be located on the south side of the valley, near Serene Avenue and Las Vegas Blvd. South. The Serene Pines project is a multi-family residential development that will provide a safe and comfortable living environment for seniors on limited incomes.
Nevada Hand will develop a four-story building with 278 units with one and two-bedroom apartments designed for senior residents 55 years of age and older. The project will include amenities such as a clubhouse, a multipurpose room with a community kitchen, computer rooms, a library, a theater room, a game room, craft rooms and more, providing essential amenities and services on-site.
“The cost of housing is out of control, especially for our seniors. That is why we are working hard every day to increase the inventory of affordable options in Clark County,” said Clark County Commissioner Michel Naft, whose project is located in his district. “Today, I was proud to approve an additional 278 units dedicated to our senior population. I am anxious to continue to work with partners like Nevada Hand to deliver safe and affordable housing options for all.”
The Serene Pines project will include a swimming pool courtyard and an 18,472 square-foot programmed courtyard, creating a living space for all residents. Parking will be available on all four sides of the building, ensuring convenience and accessibility for residents and visitors.
