There’s plenty to celebrate in Las Vegas this week—the fact that many popular shows are returning, several pool lounges are back and many properties are back to 24/7 operations. And then, of course, there’s St. Patrick’s Day! March 17 might be the actual holiday, but Las Vegas has fun planned for visitors all week long.
The fun starts at Harrah’s, where several popular restaurants offer special meal deals (and, of course, spirits!). Enjoy delights like shepherd’s pie, braised lamb, English peas and much more as part of a four-course specialty menu at Ruth’s Chris Steak House; the deal also includes a complimentary shot of Jameson or a pint of Guinness. At Oyster Bar & Grill, sautéed Irish whiskey onions truly punch up a pan-seared halibut. Add on a chocolate mint cake at the end. And Fulton Street Food Hall, the chef-driven marketplace, serves corned beef and cabbage and Guinness lamb stew for main courses and Bailey’s cheesecake, shamrock cookies and pot o’ gold brownies for dessert.
At The Linq, Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen & Bar presents “The Guyrish Man”—corned beef and cabbage steak, smoked bangers and mashed potatoes, as well as a Guinness-infused gravy. At the Linq Promenade, Off the Strip Bistro & Bar offers corned beef and hash (or cabbage), as well as specials on Jameson, Fireball, Guinness and Murphy’s. To really get you in a holiday mood, the High Roller observation wheel lights up at night with various shades of green. While you’re on your way to ride the wheel, really get in the mood by stopping at the Sky Lounge, where you can get a “Shamrock Sour” made with Irish whiskey, melon liqueur, sour mix and Sierra Mist.
Westgate Las Vegas keeps the fun going with a “Lucky Irish” burger at The Court in its SuperBook—a corned beef-stuffed patty with Guinness braised onions and cabbage, pickled mustard seeds, crispy potatoes and Irish cheddar cheese. Pair that with $6 Jameson shots, $5 Guinness bottles and $9 Irish car bombs.
Want something a bit different? Lawry’s the Prime Rib offers “The Celtic Kick-Off Caper,” a three-course dinner complete with a murder mystery, at 7 p.m. on March 17 and 18. Tickets are $115 per person, and reservations are required at atouchofmystery.com.
At Fashion Show, satisfy that sweet tooth Irish-style with the Lucky Leprechaun Insane Milkshake at Sugar Factory. It’s an Irish coffee-flavored shake blended with Jameson whiskey and poured into a green, chocolate-covered mug with leprechaun sprinkles, topped with chocolate gold coins, rainbow sour belts and a rainbow whirly pop.
The Cosmopolitan gets in on the St. Paddy’s action with a themed menu at STK Steakhouse. Until March 21, enjoy happy hour lil’ corned beef sliders and leprechaun stiletto cocktails for $7 each.
