HENDERSON, Nev. (FOX5) – Traffic is flowing normally in Henderson.
But for more than two hours Monday afternoon, water was flowing through the streets after shooting into the sky.
That’s after the driver of an SUV hit a water valve in the Green Valley Ranch area.
The neighbor on the other side of the wall joked at least his side lawn got watered. That neighbor, who did not wish to go on camera tells FOX5 he was without water for about an hour.
That tracks with what FOX5 learned from the Henderson Fire Department. HFD told FOX5 three homes were temporarily affected because of the spontaneous geyser.
This all happened around 3:15 pm Monday. Four hours later is when traffic in both directions opened up again.
Cars were diverted going north bound between St. Rose Parkway and Sienna Heights Drive just a few feet from the Emergency Room at Green Valley Ranch.
Even on a normal day, that side street is known to give drivers a bit of a headache.
Speaking of traffic, our crew noticed several street signs indicating the area is in a school zone.
It’s unclear how fast the driver of the SUV was going at the time of the crash which caused it to roll on its side.
FOX5 learned the driver is ok and no injuries were reported.
FOX5 requested a copy of the report to see if any charges or citations were issued.
We will update this story when we hear back.
