LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Clark County said they found over 1,500 mail ballots not yet tabulated ahead of certification.
The county says 1,608 ballots were timely received, secured and processed. As of a release sent at 11:47 a.m. Friday, the county says they were tabulated and counted.
Officials say the correction did not change the outcome in any race.
“The unofficial results have now been updated and reviewed by the Registrar and are ready for certification,” the county said. “The County remains committed to safe and secure elections and as a result will be issuing an audit in collaboration with the State of Nevada, Secretary of State’s Office.”
News of these mail ballots come as Clark County sent a letter to the Secretary of State Friday ahead of the canvass.
The mail ballots were found during a reconciliation process. The ballots were in the duplication stage of the mail ballot process but were not yet duplicated and tabulated.
Officials say they were kept in a secure vault in the department.
In a letter, the county promises a thorough review of the mail ballot duplication process to ensure that the error does not happen in the future.
The Secretary of State responded to the ballots:
