LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Nevada Supreme Court rules to allow mail-in-ballots to be counted three days after Election Day.
Members of the RNC sued the Secretary of State for allegedly violating federal law and undermining election integrity in the state.
The RNC did not want ballots counted that were received days after Election Day.
The RNC argued, “Republican voters vote by mail at a much lower percentage than Democratic voters. And thus, counting allegedly invalid mail ballots received after election day would benefit Democratic candidates at the expense of Republican candidates,”
The Supreme Court found the RNC’s argument did not have standing and failed to provide evidence.
The Supreme Court reported only 24 mail ballots were received in Clark County without postmarks after the primary elections.
Officials believe there is no suspected impact on the 2024 general election.
Election day is on November 5th.
