LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A pedestrian was injured and a driver is in custody after a crash west of the Strip Thursday night.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash occurred on West Flamingo Road and Cameron Street around 11:37 p.m.
An initial investigation found that a male pedestrian was crossing north on Flamingo near a marked crosswalk, while a maroon Ford Maverick was traveling west.
The Ford struck the pedestrian, who was transported to UMC Trauma with life-threatening injuries.
The Ford driver remained at the scene, though police say he showed signs of impairment. He was taken into custody on DUI-related charges.
Both east and westbound lanes on Flamingo were briefly closed, but have since reopened.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
