LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – 10 p.m. UPDATE: Police now say that it was a moped rider who was involved in this crash with a Ram truck Thursday afternoon.
LVMPD says impairment was not a factor in this crash.
The rider of the moped failed to stop at a stop sign when it hit the front of the truck.
The man who was riding the moped died at the hospital and his identity will be released by the coroner at a later date.
Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash near Haven Street and Mesa Verde Lane in the south area of Las Vegas.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is reviewing the crash that involved a car and a motorcycle around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Police say a car struck the motorcyclist in the intersection. The motorcyclist was then transported to a hospital where they died from their injuries.
The driver of the car remained at the scene and did show signs of impairment.
The intersection will remain closed while police investigate this crash.
No other details from police have been been provided at this time.
