LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A 41-year-old Utah man died in a crash north of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Sunday.
Nevada State Police revealed details in their investigation. The crash happened Sunday at 3:55 p.m. 13 miles north of the Las Vegas Speedway.
Police said Carlos Madigal of St. George, Utah trageled in a Chevrolet Silverado on southbound I-15.
Police said Madigal failed to stay in the travel lane and drove onto the dirt shoulder, hitting a paddle marker.
He then steered right, traveling across three lanes. He overturned and struck a large highway sign.
The pickup truck rested in the west desert area of I-15.
Police said Madigal died at the scene.
“The investigation is being conducted by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol – Traffic Homicide Unit,“ police said.
