LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A motorcyclist is dead after crashing into an SUV in the northwest valley on Monday night.
According to Las Vegas Metro Police, the crash occurred around 7:02 p.m. at North Rancho Drive, north of North Torrey Pines Drive. An initial investigation revealed that a 2013 KTM 1190 RC8 motorcycle was traveling north on Rancho at a high speed, while a 2020 Lincoln Corsair was traveling south.
The Lincoln turned left to enter a private drive just before the intersection, and the motorcycle collided with its rear-right side.
The rider was ejected and would later be transported to UMC Trauma with life-threatening injuries. However, the rider – identified as a 32-year-old man – died from his injuries.
The Lincoln driver and passenger also reported injuries in the crash and were transported to UMC. Additionally, police say the driver is not suspected of impairment.
“The motorcyclist’s death marked the 123rd traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD’s jurisdiction for 2024,” LVMPD noted in a release. “This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section.”
