LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A 41-year-old wanted Henderson police to arrest him after he told officers about two dead bodies inside a home.
Karl Groschen faces two counts of open murder. FOX5 obtained an arrest report from the Henderson Police Department accusing him of killing his wife and stepson.
Friday night, police responded to the 300 block of Black Rock Hills near Warm Springs Road and Stephanie Street.
Groschen would call police and say, “You need to come here now, there’s a huge crime scene.”
When officers arrived, Groschen exited the home with a juvenile, later revealed as his son.
He told police that “they were there for him,” and there are two bodies inside the home, Anastasiya and Sergei.
According to the arrest report, Groschen believed the two wanted to kill him. Because of his statements, police placed him into handcuffs. No weapons were found on him.
Police obtained search warrants for the home and the vehicles inside the garage. During investigation, police found 20-year-old Sergei with a gunshot wound to the head near the laundry room.
Police would find Groschen’s wife, 44, in the driver’s seat of a car.
The Clark County coroner said Sergei suffered 5 gunshot wounds. Anastasiya was shot about 4 times.
At the scene, police interviewed witnesses.
Groschen was seen yelling “get out of my house” at Sergei in the garage shortly before the deadly shooting. A witness told police she saw the stepson outside the home while the garage door closed.
When the garage door shut, a round of gunshots would be heard. A witness saw Sergei panic and enter the home again through the front door.
When Sergei got inside, another round of shots fired.
Police were able to obtain Ring video surveillance. Officers said about nine shots could be heard in the video.
He’s due for a court appearance on Tuesday.
