One of the hottest new restaurants in town now offers a terrific lunch. Kris Yenbamroong’s Night + Market’s lunch menu is a playful take on his overall menu, which focuses on “Thai drinking food,” a combination of the traditional and unique. One thing is certain: If you’re a fan of the L.A. original, this might become your new go-to lunch spot.
Start with spicy egg rolls, where the texture of crunchy lettuce meets the sweet-and-sour flavors of a crispy egg roll stuffed with roast vegetables, glass noodles, shiitake mushrooms and Thai basil. Or opt for the savory and rich flavors of hanger steak satay, served with peanut sauce.
Thai boxing chicken is destined to be a favorite, combining barbecue chicken thigh, papaya salad and sticky rice and chili dipping sauce. Pad thai gets a serious twist here, combining chicken, sweet radish, egg, crushed peanuts and Thai chili.
But the real monster on this menu is the fried chicken sandwich, served Northern Thai-style. A chicken thigh with the skin on is deep fried and slathered with papaya slaw, jalapenos, cilantro and ranch dressing.
