LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A Massachusetts man is accused of fraudulently paying $1.5 million to a Las Vegas casino.
FOX5 obtained court documents saying Daniel Cosgrove Burrell drew two checks to a casino when he received cash or gaming chips.
A warrant says the checks were deposited, one valued at $1 million and the other $500K. Records say it returned as unpaid and the account was closed.
The warrant claims Burrell failed to pay the checks in full.
A criminal complaint accuses Burrell of drawing the checks willfully with an intent to defraud and cheat.
According to a FOX News report, Burrell was arrested in Nantucket Friday morning.
This incident happened just one day after his island mansion was sold at a foreclosure auction.
Burrell is due in Las Vegas Justice Court on Oct. 9.
