It might not be the end of the road for a legendary music group from the 1990s that recently teased the reunion of all four original members.
Boyz II Men had a special reunion during the penultimate show of their Las Vegas residency on Aug. 30 when the fourth member of the famed R&B group, Michael McCary, appeared, according to People magazine.
McCary, 52, who left the group in 2003 due to health issues, didn’t perform but joined his “brothers” — members Wanya Morris, Nathan Morri, and Shawn Stockman — on stage.
McCary hinted that a reunion could be coming.
“There will be another day that we’ll all be onstage together, trust me,” McCary told the audience inside the Cosmopolitan’s Chelsea Theater, according to People. “It’s coming, and I love these guys.”
For the last 20 years, McCary has suffered back issues and was eventually diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. He left the band due to his health and rumored in-fighting with other members of the group. Stockman attempted to squash those rumors around McCary’s exit, saying that McCary will “always be our brother ’til the day we die,” according to the magazine.
“You’re witnessing a brotherhood, a bond forever that is forever,” Stockman told the crowd, according to People. “This will never ever change, no matter what we go through, no matter what decisions we make, no matter what we do in our lives. We’re men, and sometimes men have to go [in] different directions.”
Friday’s appearance is believed to be the first time all four members of the group were together in public in over 20 years, according to People.
