LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – UNLV women’s soccer was stunned by a couple of late second-half goals as it dropped its first road match of the season, 3-2, against Utah Tech Thursday evening at Greater Zion Stadium.
The Rebels (1-1) grabbed the lead over the host Trailblazers (1-1) on two separate occasions off of free kicks. Those included a 35-yard pass by Torie Reardon on Sarah Martinez’s 11th-minute goal and Mallie Ramirez’s 76th-minute score assisted by Gianna Newby.In spite of the Scarlet & Gray’s advantages, Utah Tech found two goals just minutes apart within the final seven minutes of action to alter the outcome.
