If you’ve got a craving but aren’t sure exactly what will satisfy it, head to Bar Zazu. This tapas establishment combines plush seating, amazing artworks, and a menu featuring a wide variety of flavorful bites to create a perfect beginning, middle or end to your evening (it offers a swanky place for breakfast and lunch, too). Start by feasting your eyes on art pieces hanging from the wall, including whimsical, food-inspired ladies that drift from frame to frame.
Like many other tapas places, order by choosing a variety of small, individual items, from cheeses to bone marrow. At Bar Zazu, you will undoubtedly want to start with a composed cheese board, which you can get in three sizes. El Grande Salumi contains a bit of every cheese variety of the menu, along with salami and marinated olives. And those olives are amazing.
A tapas classic is pan con tomate, done here with toasted Catalan Cristal bread, served with your choice of manchego cheese, ham and boquerones (fresh anchovies), plus preserved Cantabrian anchovies, marinated mussels or squid-stuffed squid.
There are plenty of other plates, both hot and cold, such as chickpea hummus with pita and veggies, patatas bravas, seafood pasta, roasted beets, bone marrow for two, ham and cheese croquettes, lamb T-bone, and bobo chicken and seafood paella. By the time you make it to the peppadew peppers stuffed with goat cheese, you are bound to be a little stuffed yourself!
