LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Fred Goldman, the father of Ron Goldman, has filed a $117 million claim against the late O.J. Simpson’s Las Vegas estate in the wrongful death of his son.
Though Simpson was eventually acquitted in the 1994 killings of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, Fred Goldman would go on to win a civil lawsuit against Simpson in Los Angeles in 1997. The lawsuit would order Simpson to pay $33 million to Goldman.
However, due to laws protecting Simpson’s pension from his time in the NFL, the award would never be paid out. Goldman, who has brought the lawsuit to Nevada, is now demanding over $117 million from the Simpson estate. That total now includes accrued interest through 2024, according to the lawsuit.

The total would build over the years due to Goldman’s three renewals of the claim — once in 2006, a second time in 2015, and a third in 2022.
In 2021, Goldman domesticated the claim in Nevada for a renewed total of $57,997,858.12. Simpson would respond by counter-filing for relief from the judgment, which a judge would later deny. The judge would also rule that the claim would accrue interest at a daily rate of $26,402 until paid.
O.J. Simpson passed away from prostate cancer in his Las Vegas home on April 11.
The next hearing regarding the Simpson estate is set for Friday, August 30, though it is currently unclear when the claim will be brought before a judge.
