LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) is issuing a cease-and-desist to a company producing live dealer content across the world. That studio is located in Las Vegas.
Playgon Interactive, Inc. and its affiliate, Bitrate Productions are accused of using live dealers in town to deal games, such as baccarat and roulette, then broadcast the content to online casinos internationally.
The board says the games, provided by the producer, require appropriate licensing they currently do not have.
Legal counsel for the companies told the board, two previous times in 2016, the content would be used solely for entertainment. The board said at some point the activities went beyond social gaming.
The NGCB’s letter dated July 18 demands that Playgon, Bitrate and their respective employees and affiliates must cease the unlicensed activity by 5:00 p.m. on July 26, 2024, or face potential criminal or civil actions.
Nevada law allows the board to “investigate for the purpose of prosecution and any suspected criminal violation.”
Chairman Kirk Hendrick said, “The NGCB will take all necessary actions to enforce Nevada’s gaming laws and regulations.”
