LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Wednesday, the Neon Museum announced plans for relocation and expansion within the Arts District at downtown Las Vegas.
The museum made the announcement at a Las Vegas City Council meeting. Officials say they want to expand to triple the size of its current location.
The museum says they will still collect more information for two sites. The first is a 60,000 square-foot outdoor display space and 47,000 square-feet for an indoor area on floors 9 and 10 of a proposed parking garage.
The second location would be a walk away with a 35,000 square-feet of “programmable space.”
The expansion is said to be a part of a Tourism Improvement District. The site for this district is planned within the area of Union Pacific Rail Road, Gass Avenue, 3rd Street and Charleston.
Thursday, FOX5 plans to meet with the Neon Museum’s Executive Director Arron Berger to discuss the new chapter.
