LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A suspect with a gun was arrested on UNLV’s campus Thursday afternoon.
University Police said they received reports of a man with a gun on campus around 12:50 p.m. They said the man had a concealed weapon in the Financial Aid and Cashiering Offices on the southwest part of campus.
UPD said officers responded quickly and the suspect fled, but was soon apprehended. The suspect never brandished the weapon, UPD said.
Police said the suspect is in custody and was being booked into Clark County Detention Center on the following charges:
- Possession of a firearm on school grounds
- Resisting arrest
- Trespass
Police said it was an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the campus. However, there will be a visible police presence on campus.
