LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – It has become one of the biggest attractions in Las Vegas. One year ago on the Fourth of July, the Sphere debuted its first light show. Now on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it continues to dazzle both locals and tourists alike.
This Fourth of July, for the first time, music will accompany the images projected on the exterior exosphere. A new custom audio system synced to the exosphere will debut along with an official live stream of the exosphere that will be available 24/7 on the Sphere’s website.
“Hello world,” that was the first message displayed on the Sphere followed by virtual fireworks to celebrate Independence Day, then the Sphere transformed into a spinning American flag.
The $2.3 billion innovative concert venue has become a spectacle, people coming from near and far to see it in person. The constantly changing creative displays push the boundaries of the imagination.
It is the world’s largest spherical structure, and it houses the world’s largest LED screen. The exosphere is a space as large as four football fields.
The band U2 kicked things off on the inside in September with the first concert.
On Halloween, things got spooky. Ghosts or goblins seemingly trying to escape from within the orb.
For Christmas, the Rockettes gave the first dance performance bringing holiday cheer to Vegas.
As Vegas played host to the Super Bowl, the Sphere became football helmets with Chiefs and 49ers logos.
With so many eyes constantly on the Sphere, it even become the target of a climber who said he was trying to make a political statement.
With one year of mesmerizing and memorable displays on the exosphere, they are just getting started. What will come next? We all will have to keep watching.
