LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A woman died Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in North Las Vegas.
North Las Vegas Police Department responded to the scene of the crash around 8:30 p.m. on Cheyenne Avenue near Martin Luther King Boulevard.
An initial investigation revealed that the 67-year-old woman was crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a 1999 Acura sedan.
Arriving medical crews pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
The driver of the Acura, identified as 29-year-old Alvarado Lopez, remained at the scene and showed signs of impairment. Lopez was arrested and booked on charges of DUI resulting in death and reckless driving.
The crash remains under investigation.
