LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Two people was killed in a wrong-way crash just off the 215 highway in the Las Vegas Valley last week.
Today, a Nevada State Police report identified the vehicles involved in the crash, including a 2024 GMC Yukon SUV that was driving the wrong way. That vehicle struck a 2021 Dodge Ram pickup truck head-on.
After the crash, the two vehicles rotated counterclockwise and the Dodge pickup traveled northwest, into the middle travel lane, and crashed into a 2020 Toyota Camry. Police said both the Dodge and Camry then traveled onto the right paved shoulder, where they caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames.
The Yukon came to rest facing northwest, partially on the left paved and dirt shoulder. The Dodge pickup came to rest facing southwest in the right paved shoulder and middle travel lane and the Toyota came to rest facing east in the right paved shoulder.
The drivers of the Yukon and the Dodge were pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Coroner’s Office following a next of kin notification.
The adult passenger of the Toyota stayed on the scene to provide a written statement. The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command has investigated 32 fatal crashes resulting in 40 fatalities.
