LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – At around 3:45 p.m., North Las Vegas Police Department officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Main St. and Owens Ave.
Arriving officers determined that the crash involved a black 1994 Honda Civic and a burgundy 2022 Nissan Altima. There were three occupants in the Honda Civic and one occupant in the Nissan Altima.
Both drivers and the two passengers in the Honda Civic were all taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. All but one passenger in the Honda Civic had minor injuries.
One passenger in the Honda Civic, a 13-year-old, was taken to UMC Peds and is listed in serious condition.
The NLVPD Traffic Bureau’s Major Collision Investigation Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation. The preliminary investigation indicates that the Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on Owens Ave. and was attempting to turn northbound onto Main St.
At that time, the Nissan Altima was traveling westbound on Owens Ave and was approaching Main St. The Honda Civic made a left turn in front of the path of the Nissan Altima, causing a crash to occur.
Police said neither driver showed signs of impairment. Roadways in that area remain closed as investigators continue the investigation.
