LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A knife-wielding suspect is injured after being shot by officers in the northeast valley on Saturday night.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the incident as this year’s fourth officer-involved shooting.
Officers arrived in the 5000 block of East Craig Road, near Nellis Air Force Base, around 11:10 p.m. in response to a domestic disturbance. A male suspect armed with a knife was located at the scene, forcefully holding a female hostage outside an apartment complex.
The man would then move into a nearby unit and attempt to stab the woman, but officers would follow and shoot at him.
Police confirm that the suspect was struck and transported to UMC Trauma. The woman was also transported for treatment, and no officers were injured.
