LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) -11-year-old Eli Morgan says he remembers the first time he felt the urge to help someone in need.
“When I was 7 years old, I came back from a movie, and I saw one person holding a sign asking for anything that helps, and I gave them a pack of little Red Vines, and they were so happy, and they were like God bless you, and it felt good.”
Since then, Eli has continued his mission of giving back.
“The reason why I do it is because every time we’re driving downtown or driving somewhere, you can always see people on the streets with not much, and it kind of just feels wrong and that they need some help.”
On Sunday, he packed up a hundred sandwich meals and distributed them to people experiencing homelessness in downtown Las Vegas.
He says he hopes to do this every month, with the help of donations.
“Because when we grow up, it could happen to us,” he said, “and everything you put out can also come back to you.”
