Longtime fans of Tuscany Suites & Casino no doubt have many fond memories of its Italian restaurant, Tuscany Gardens. Well, prepare for many more fond memories, as that space has been reimagined and renamed Bistecca Italian Steakhouse, and features a completely new menu and plenty of surprises.
The interior immediately speaks to the high-end experience you’re about to have. Contemporary visual artist Patrizia Didiomete created the room’s original artwork, and the décor is completely modern, including upscale furniture and impeccably appointed tables. All your favorite classic cocktails are here (they serve a mean Boulevardier made with bourbon, blood orange liqueur and Carpano Antica), and if you’re a fan of wine pairings, the award-winning vintages will have you eagerly anticipating your next course.
Great starters include a tableside Caesar (if you’ve never experienced this, it’s well worth the extra coin); carpaccio with mustard aioli, arugula, capers and grilled lemon, all in shaved Parmesan; Portobellini mushrooms stuffed with ricotta, Italian sausage, mozzarella and spinach; and antipasti misto, a chef’s selection of cured meats, cheeses, giardiniera and Kalamata olives.
The meat options here are plentiful and varied, with everything from a Scotch filet and domestic wagyu tomahawk bone-in to a New York strip, filet mignon and massive, 36-ounce Porterhouse. Choose from sauces like red wine reduction, peppercorn and Bearnaise, and perfect sides include Tuscan potatoes (fried and served with Parmesan and crispy garlic) and grilled hen of the wood mushrooms served with taleggio polenta.
But while Bistecca is advertised as a steakhouse, don’t miss some of the amazing alternative meat options. Piccata features Mary’s chicken, lemon and capers in a white wine sauce, accompanied by broccolini; the 24-ounce veal osso buco is served with a choice of saffron risotto or fettucine; halibut comes with basil aioli, bread crumbs and lemon butter sauce; and chianti-braised beef short rib is accompanied by Yukon potato purée and roasted root vegetables, with a horseradish crust.
The desserts are Italian classics, but we recommend the bananas Foster flambé, featuring vanilla gelato, caramelized bananas and banana liqueur. It’s perfect for the whole table.
