Any meat lovers reading this? Any barbecued-meat lovers reading this? If I said there’s a restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip filling two huge smokers with 2,000 pounds of meat daily, would that tempt you? Virgil’s Real Barbecue doesn’t joke around when it comes to meat and what they do with said meat. The original Virgil’s out of New York has been barbecuing all manner of meat since 1994, from Texas-style brisket to Carolina-style pork to competition-style ribs.
With a sizeable outdoor patio great for people-watching, Virgil’s menu is packed with Southern-flavored goodness, from Texas chili, crispy hush puppies, fried sweet pickles and chicken wings to burgers, sandwiches and salads. The tastiest reason to visit, though? The barbecue of course! From the smoker, tear into Memphis-style pork spare ribs, beef brisket, smoked barbecue chicken and Carolina pulled pork. The plates come with sides like collard greens, mac and cheese, cheddar cheese grits, coleslaw and more. We suggest unbuttoning those pants for some dessert—the banana pudding is quite addicting.
