LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Brett Howden is locking in with the Vegas Golden Knights after signing a five-year contract extension with the team.
In a press release Friday, the team announced that they would be keeping the forward on for an average annual salary of $2,500,000.
Howden is currently in his fourth season with the Golden Knights and appeared in 20 games this season. The 26-year-old Calgary native is currently tied with Ivan Barbashev for the second-highest number of goals for the VGK this season, after Pavel Dorofeyev.
Before being acquired by the Golden Knights in July of 2021, Howden played three seasons with the New York Rangers (2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21).
He was also a first-round pick (27th overall) for the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
