For one of the best places to indulge in an apertivo and a snack before tackling your main meal, head to Brera Osteria. The chill restaurant in St. Mark’s Square serves up excellent starters like oysters with fennel mignonette, marinated olives, meatballs, mussels, mini pizzas and beef tartare. Continue on to your main meal with cacio e pepe, rib chops for two, braised veal-filled tortelli, and bigger pizzas, including the Vince, a signature pie that features mortadella, mozzarella, burrata, pistachio and orange zest.
There are also plenty of larger entrée portions, like branzino with white bean purée, roasted half chicken, sea scallops and New York steak. Round out that meal with a nice iced coffee or an amaro or grappa and dessert, with options of passionfruit cheesecake, panna cotta with mango sauce or house-made gelato.
It is also offering a special Go Vegan tasting menu in November, with such items as garganelli with San Marzano tomatoes, spiced polenta and cauliflower with Nardello peppers.
