LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV Athletics has announced a remodeled fundraising program that is focused on more philanthropic support for the department to better support its fundraising priorities: the new Rebel Athletic Fund.
The Rebel Athletic Fund is responsible for generating resources to support UNLV’s more than 500 Rebel student-athletes to win championships, graduate as leaders, and excel in all that they do.
Beginning with the 2025-26 athletics year, the giving structure will recognize UNLV Athletics donors based on their philanthropic contributions, removing season ticket spending as a way to determine donor benefits. Rebel Athletic Fund giving levels have been adjusted to account for this change. Benefits for the 2025-26 athletics year will be determined by gifts made between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025.
Additionally, the Rebel Athletic Fund has established a new Champion Rebels Annual Fund for gifts made to the respective levels of Contributor, Scarlet, and Gray. All gifts made at these levels ($4,999 and below) must be directed to the UNLV Athletics unrestricted annual fund which supports all student-athletes.
The priority points formula has been updated to better reward and recognize Rebel supporters who contribute philanthropically and purchase season tickets. Additionally, it now recognizes those who support UNLV Athletics with a planned gift. The updated Rebel Athletic Fund benefits chart and priority points chart may be viewed by clicking here.
“To continue to maintain and grow the resources necessary to support our athletics program, we have remodeled our fundraising program to emphasize philanthropy,” said Director of Athletics Erick Harper. “Our donors are vital to our success and will be recognized and rewarded for their philanthropic giving and not just for ticket transactions. We look forward to engaging with all stakeholders as we continue to support our student-athletes at UNLV and their first-class experience.”
The remodel of the Rebel Athletic Fund comes a year after UNLV Athletics announced its first-ever comprehensive capital campaign: “Rebel Up.” These new model changes align with the funding priorities of the campaign.
