LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police are investigating an “illegal shooting” in the southeast valley Wednesday morning.
Around 7:52 a.m., LVMPD received reports of an unknown male firing rounds from a handgun into the air at Desert Inn and Hollywood Boulevard.
Citizens in the area observed the shooting, but there are no reported victims, police say.
Police emphasize that this is not an active shooter incident. East Career Technical Academy was briefly placed on lockdown, which has since been lifted.
In a letter to parents, Principal Natasha Lerutte shared that classroom operations are resuming as normal for the remainder of the school day.
