LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Clark County registrar of voters gave a brief update after Election Day.
Lorena Portillo spoke at the Clark County Election Department.
After Tuesday night, Nevada has yet to call its race for president. Numbers according to AP shows a lead for GOP Presidential-elect Donald Trump.
As of Wednesday morning, Trump has a 51.7% lead.
The race for Nevada senate between GOP challenger Sam Brown and democratic incumbent Jacky Rosen is close.
Portillo says that 9,200 ballots were just posted to Clark County’s website. This includes mail ballots received from the post office yesterday morning and any that were successfully cured.
About 54,000 ballots were received from the vote center drop boxes as of Wednesday afternoon.
Portillo says the next update after 10 p.m. should include about 55,000 ballots. This includes yesterday’s morning mail and any that are successfully cured.
However, from those ballots, we won’t know how many will pass verification and be tabulated tonight.
As of 11 a.m., the county has 12,000 ballots that need to be cured. Clark County says voters could check if their ballot needs to be verified at cure.nv.gov.
