When you dine at Libertine Social, it’s just that, social. Everything about Shawn McClain’s place is designed to encourage interaction between you and your party as you nosh. With several areas to land, from the dining room to one of two bars, and the patio outside, the buzz of the entire establishment will get you fired up. And the menu is just as buzzy now as it was when Libertine opened—the caviar fried egg, filled with corn pudding and topped with caviar and brioche, is almost a must.
A favorite of mine, garlic hummus, comes with balloon bread, a thrill every time I pull a piece off. You’ll find mains like shrimp and grits, roasted Petaluma chicken and the hefty Libertine cheeseburger. And drinks! The drink menu here was designed by celebrated mixologist Tony Abou-Ganim, and features some super libations. Plus, a to-go window lets you get some of those culinary pops at lunch on weekends, before the restaurant opens for the evening.
