LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A pedestrian fighting for his life after being struck by a car near Spring Valley on Sunday night.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash occurred on Decatur Boulevard, north of Twain Avenue, at 9:36 p.m. An initial investigation determined that a 2007 Honda Accord was traveling south on Decatur, while a pedestrian was crossing west.
The Honda driver hit the brakes and attempted to swerve, but still struck the man, police say.
Both the pedestrian and the driver showed signs of impairment at the scene. The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to UMC Trauma with life-threatening injuries.
The Honda driver also remained at the scene and was taken into custody on DUI charges.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
