LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in the southeast valley.
A little before 10 a.m., officers responded to a car with stolen plates in the 4800 block of East Tropicana Avenue and South Nellis Boulevard.
Officers responding made contact with the car and the alleged stolen plates.
Air units were assisting, according to LVMPD.
A person was reportedly seen getting in the car. The driver began speeding and running red lights.
Officers say two people got out of the car and began running from police.
Police chased the two male suspects. LVMPD officials say when the officer located the suspect, he was seen with a gun pointed at police.
The officer shot the male individual.
LVMPD reported the suspect was taken to the hospital, and both suspects are in custody.
