LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Friday night’s UNLV football game vs. Syracuse will also feature some intense action at halftime as a donut-eating contest, hosted by former Rebel quarterback and media personality Kenny Mayne, will take place on the Torch Terrace Stage inside Allegiant Stadium.
Five notable contestants will compete to see who can eat two dozen pink-frosted donuts the fastest in honor of UNLV’s Breast Cancer Awareness Night and sponsored by Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The participants are 10-time Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Champion and UNLV alumnae Miki Sudo, along with UNLV Athletics Hall of Fame offensive lineman and current UNLV Faculty Athletics Representative Dr. Tony Terrell, ESPN Las Vegas radio host and UNLV football radio sideline reporter Steve Cofield, student representative Emmie Cabrales from Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, and head coach of the UNLV men’s basketball team, Kevin Kruger.
Prior to the game, fans 21 and over are invited to join a special Happy Hour event at the Torch Bar inside Allegiant Stadium, where they can enjoy half-price domestic drafts from 4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. while taking in the spectacular view of the Las Vegas Strip through the stadium’s iconic lanai doors.
As part of this pre-game event, fans will have the unique opportunity to meet both Mayne and Sudo, who will be available for autographs and photos.
