LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Community leaders joined Opportunity Village in the ceremonial groundbreaking of the $59 million construction project.
The organization shared that the development of the Northwest Campus and Betty’s Village North project will span over 17.6 acres from the intersection of Thom and Rome Boulevards, near North Decatur Boulevard and I-215.
The construction is expected to begin in October.
According to reports, the project will be completed in two phases.
The first will begin with an expected timeline of up to 24 months to complete Betty’s Village North.
Officials shared that Betty’s Village will offer 90 residential spaces of one and two-bedroom apartments and four-bedroom homes.
Organizers say they hope to provide up to 125 people with access to affordable housing.
The next step would be the addition of Opportunity Village Northwest Campus.
The Northwest Campus will include habilitation program spaces, workforce training, retail stores, and coffee shops.
Construction plans detailed gated living quarters and front porch living. The community will also include amenities such as bike paths, parks, and a barbecue area.
