LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5)—The Southern Nevada Health District is warning Clark County residents about an increased risk of raw milk sales.
SNHD discovered raw milk was being illegally sold in Clark County. According to Health officials, those products were removed from shelves and thrown out.
According to the health district, repeat offenders can face revocation of their health permits.
Health experts have explained that consuming raw milk could cause severe illness or death, as it contains bacteria like salmonella, E. coli, listeria, brucella, and campylobacter.
Children under the age of 5 years old, elderly over 65 years old, pregnant people, and individuals with weak immune systems are more vulnerable, according to SNHD.
The health district recommends that anyone who sees raw milk sold in Clark County report it to the Nevada Department of Agriculture at (775) 353-3607.
Someone who becomes ill after consumption can also report it through the Foodborne Illness Complaint form.
