LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A pedestrian at Centennial Hills Hospital was hit by an ambulance and died, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said.
The crash happened Wednesday around 1:34 a.m. Evidence at the scene, statements from witnesses, and video surveillance showed a pedestrian lying in a private drive at Centennial Hills Hospital.
A Las Vegas Fire Department ambulance traveled south through the north side of the property. The crash happened when the ambulance turned into the hospital’s ambulance bay.
Emergency medical and Centennial Hills Hospital personnel responded and transported him into the hospital for treatment.
Police said the pedestrian died despite life-saving measures. He was a 29-year-old man from Las Vegas.
The Las Vegas Fire Department ambulance and its crew remained at the collision scene and showed no signs of impairment, Las Vegas police said.
“The pedestrian’s death marks the 102nd traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for 2024,” police said. “The collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.”
