LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas F1 organizers are shifting into gear this week as preparations for the event get underway.
Preparation for the 2024 Circuit is set to begin.
According to officials, no repaving work is needed for this Year’s Grand Prix.
Crews are set to install track lighting and barriers, which are expected only to restrict lanes.
Race Weekend is less than three months away. F1 has worked closely with resort staff along the circuit and city officials to ensure that strip employees’ transportation needs to and from work are met and accessible.
“together with the support of the LVCVA we are standing up an employee mobility program, a very convenient park and ride option so that all hospitality workers, Corporate if they have to get in and out of their shift and it’s during hot track during the event itself that we have a convenient way to get them to their shift to get to work,” said Lori Nelson-Kraft, Senior VP corporate Affairs, Las Vegas Grand Prix.
The Grand Prix launched an interactive website to help commuters and visitors navigate F1 construction zones.
The site gives a detailed picture of the road work needed before and after the race, including specific times for street closures during race week.
Due to lighting installation, drivers near Harmon Avenue between Las Vegas Boulevard and Koval will see reduced lanes at night this week.
Lane will also be reduced on Koval and Rochelle as crews work to install the pedestrian bridge.
Commuters are advised to stay aware of the upcoming changes in the area.
