LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – LVMPD is investigating a homicide in the northeast part of the valley.
Police responded to the 6900 block of Kelper Drive near Hollywood and Lake Mead after reports of a shooting.
Homicide lieutenant Jason Johansson said in a briefing Monday night that officers arrived where they were met by several people who directed them to an upstairs apartment unit.
Responding officers found the victim, a high school-aged teenager with a gunshot wound then provided treatment.
The teen boy was taken to hospital where he later died.
Inside the apartment, the victim was there with several other juveniles. Someone heard a gunshot then the victim came out of the room, according to Johansson.

Police are still trying to figure out who was in the apartment at the time and if a fight ensued before the shooting.
Johansson said there is no suspect information at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers.
