LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A woman is dead after being struck by a car while crossing a southwest valley street on Thursday night.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the collision happened around 9:21 p.m. on West Maule Avenue, east of Pearland Street. Officers determined that a BMW M4 was traveling west on Maule when a female pedestrian attempted to cross the street and entered the car’s path.
The front of the BMW struck the woman and continued driving west.

The BMW’s driver would later return to the scene and inform officers of the vehicle’s location. Police say the man, identified as 21-year-old Ali Khar, did not show impairment but was arrested on hit-and-run-related charges.
“The pedestrian’s death marks the 100th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for the year 2024,” LVMPD noted in a release. “This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.”
