LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5)—The Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) Ribbon Fire is now 100% contained, and officials report no imminent danger to the public.
The fire began on Thursday, Aug. 22. As firefighters worked to contain the Ribbon Fire over the last three days, it burned nearly 8,000 acres.
According to reports, no one was injured, and no structures were damaged.
Radiological Control Technicians surveyed the burned areas for radioactive contamination and reported negative results.
The NNSS spokesperson recognized the efforts of both the Bureau of Land Management and the Nevada Test and Training Range in containing the fire.
