UNLV football wide receiver Ricky White III is one of the nation’s finest players at his position, according to the Associated Press.
White was named a second-team preseason All-American today by the news outlet, adding to the list of accolades for the record-breaking Rebel heading into his senior season.
White previously was named a preseason first-team All-American by College Football Network; he’s on the second team by Sporting News, Athlon Sports, Phil Steele and Walter Camp.
Additionally, he is part of three preseason watch lists: the Biletnikoff Award, Maxwell Player of the Year and Walter Camp Player of the Year.
White is the second UNLV wide receiver to be honored by the Associated Press in the preseason. The other: Jim Sandusky in 1981.
White last season became the first UNLV player to have more than 100 receiving yards in five straight games. He finished with 88 receptions for a school-best 1,483 yards, making him the nation’s top returning receiver by yards gained.
