LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – One person is dead and another is severely injured after a Thursday night crash east of the Strip, police say.
Officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to the crash around 11:14 p.m. on West Flamingo Road and Cameron Street. Officers determined that the crash involved two vehicles that struck a moped carrying two riders.
Both vehicles would flee following the crash.
One of the riders, an adult female, was severely injured, while the other male rider sustained only minor injuries. The female would later die at the scene.
Police say one driver was located and arrested. Police add that impairment is suspected in this crash.
Roadways surrounding the crash will be shut down for some time while officers continue to investigate.
