LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A popular public art installation could move from its spot south of the Las Vegas Valley up north.
The Washoe County Commission discussed possibly moving the Seven Magic Mountains during a meeting Tuesday. According to the Nevada Museum of Art, the installation needs to be relocated by the end of 2027.
“We are simply exploring a range of possibilities for an ‘after life’ for Seven Magic Mountains in Nevada given it needs to be relocated by the end of 2027,” David Walker, the CEO of the Nevada Museum of Art, said in an emailed statement. “Seven Magic Mountains has been on view in its current location for more than nine years. It’s ultimately the artist’s decision as to if and where it might go next.”
Walker said the possible relocation could cost upwards of $1 million.
