LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A man was arrested in connection with another man found dead near a dumpster, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
Jaron Amey, 35, was arrested in connection Tuesday with the deadly shooting on Sunday in the 5000 block of Maryland Parkway, near Tropicana. Amey was booked into Clark County Detention Center on a murder charge.
Police said the shooting happened around 9:53 p.m. Aug. 11. LVMPD dispatchers received a call that a man was found unresponsive lying near a dumpster. When officers arrived, they said the man was suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office as 45-year-old Eric Davis. He died from a gunshot wound to the torso and his death was ruled a homicide.
Investigators said that Davis was talking with several other people prior to the shooting. All of those people fled the area, police said.
