LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Three suspects accused of robbing and murdering a man after luring him for sex, were arrested by Las Vegas police on Monday, according to court documents obtained by FOX5.
Skylar Bailey, Nathan Nava, and Emiley Ridout are all facing charges of open murder and robbery after investigators say text messages showed the trio planning the robbery of Conner Rebolledo.
On July 19, around 7:55 p.m., the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received reports of a person shot in a gated apartment community. Arriving officers located a man suffering from a gunshot wound on the ground in the parking lot, with a firearm in his hand, according to an LVMPD arrest report.
Officers also made contact with the witness who reported the shooting to 911. In an interview, the witness told officers that they witnessed the victim walking with an unknown female before three suspects “ran up and jumped Conner.”
The unknown suspects were then observed beating Rebolledo, and even pistol-whipping him with firearms. The witness told officers that they heard two to three gunshots, and saw the suspects fleeing from the scene.
The arrest report notes that officers would locate individuals matching the description of the suspects shortly after they fled. Bailey and Nava would deny involvement in the murder, investigators say.
Investigators would also interview a friend of the victim, who said that Rebolledo was messaging Ridout on social media about potentially meeting up for sex before the murder. After obtaining a search warrant for Bailey’s phone following her arrest, investigators would find messages between Bailey and Ridout where they made plans to lure Rebolledo and rob him.
Messages would also show that Bailey, who has children with Nava, began planning the robbery due to their ongoing financial struggles. The report would also note that Bailey and Ridout are half-sisters who share a father.
The connection between the suspects and Rebolledo remains unclear.
The suspects are due in court for bail hearings on Monday, Aug. 19.
