LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A person is dead following a single-vehicle rollover crash on U.S. 95 Monday morning.
Nevada State Police responded to the crash near Mile Marker 107, which is 16 miles north of the Las Vegas Valley, around 6:43 a.m. A preliminary investigation revealed that a silver 2020 Toyota Camry sedan was traveling northbound, and failed to maintain its travel lane. The sedan traveled right onto the roadway shoulder, striking a paddle marker and culvert before going airborne.
State troopers say the vehicle landed back on its wheels and rotated clockwise, coming to rest in a desert area.
The driver of the vehicle was immediately taken to an area hospital, where he would later die. It is currently unclear if the driver suffered a medical episode before the crash, though an investigation is underway.
As of August 2024, state troopers report investigating 46 deadly crashes resulting in 54 deaths.
