LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – As the Las Vegas Grand Prix approaches, Formula 1 is relaunching its text notification system to help valley residents avoid roadwork on the Strip.
In collaboration with Clark County, the SMS text update system will provide easy access to real-time updates on road closures and construction. Those enrolled for alerts will receive a text message every Sunday, Wednesday, and throughout the week as needed. Messages will begin at the end of August in advance of roadwork, which officials say is set to begin early September.
English and Spanish options are available.
Those interested are encouraged to opt-in to the service by texting F1LV to 31996.
Additionally, Formula 1 is also launching a new website with an interactive road map to host information and communications regarding preparations along the circuit and surrounding areas.
The website will launch the week of August 19.
